First-year Crow Patrick Wilson’s breakout season in the SANFL has been recognised with a selection in The Advertiser SANFL’s Team of the Year.

Adelaide’s State League Club Champion was selected at half-forward after averaging 28 disposals, seven clearances, seven marks, five tackles and five inside 50s in 2018.

The 23-year-old also kicked 11 goals in his first season at the Club.

His selection comes after he took out the Crows’ State League Club Champion with 105 votes and earned the most votes for Adelaide in the 2018 Magarey Medal.

Former Crows and now Norwood teammates Mitch Grigg and Lewis Johnston were also selected alongside fellow Redleg Matthew Panos ahead of their Grand Final on Sunday.

Their coach Jarrod Cotton was named head coach of the side.

Fellow grand finalists North Adelaide had two selections with Callum Wilkie and Jarred Allmond named at half-back.

Woodville’s Luke Thompson and Sturt’s Fraser Evans earned selections for the third straight year.

Sturt had the most representatives with five, while South Adelaide ruckman Keegan Brooksby was named captain of the side.

The 2018 team was selected by SANFL’s Adam Kelly, Tom Hurley and Zac Milbank, Channel 7’s Mark Soderstrom and The Advertiser’s Warren Partland.
