South Australian prospect Jacob Kennerley has finished the AFL Draft Combine in fine fashion, setting a record in the 2km time trial.

The rebounding defender completed the event in 6:04 minutes, bettering last year's run of 6:09 by Dylan Moore, who went on to be drafted by Hawthorn.

Last year was the first time the 2km time trial had been held at the Combine, having replaced the 3km test.

COMBINE WRAP Who did well?

Kennerley, a 184cm player from Norwood, has shown a good mix of speed and endurance and featured in SA's under-18 championships win.

He beat out Tasmanian midfielder Chayce Jones, who ran 6:06 minutes to also eclipse last year's record, and third-placed Sam Walsh.

Jones enjoyed a terrific Combine, finishing in the top 10 of the agility, standing vertical jump and running vertical jump tests as well as his time trial effort.

The national Draft Combine closed on Friday after four days of testing at Marvel Stadium.
