Is it parmi or parma?
The correct shorthand term for parmigiana has been hotly debated across Australia for many years.
During the Christmas break, Adelaide midfielder Myles Poholke took to Instagram, going into bat for ‘parma'.
Poholke, originally from Victoria, posted a photo of a menu with a number of references to ‘parma’ and stated anyone who said ‘parmi’ was not his friend.
When the AFL posted a video of Adelaide-born and now Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley supporting ‘parma’ on Tuesday, Poholke and co-captain Rory Sloane were quick to show their support.
Sloane, also born-and-raised in Victoria, stated he had been having the argument for ten years.
In South Australia, however, the term ‘parmi’ is often favoured, so it’s time to end the debate.
