Crows rookie Brodie Martin posted a best-on-ground performance for Sturt in the SANFL on the weekend.

Martin finished with 12 kicks and 14 handballs and took seven contested marks playing at half-back and then on a wing. He ran hard, showed courage and used the ball well under pressure.

Three North Adelaide based Crows all played well in the Roosters’ win over Norwood. Phil Davis had four kicks and 11 handballs in defence, where he controlled his opponents for most of the game.

Tony Armstrong was again creative with his 18 disposals, running hard and creating scoring opportunities. Rory Sloane had his best game at this level, playing at half-back. He had 11 kicks and 15 handballs, ran hard to link up and again worked hard on the ground.

Norwood’s three Crows had a tougher day. Will Young (seven possessions) tried hard in defence, Taylor Walker booted one goal from six possessions and Aaron Kite (14 possessions) had his best moments in the third term.

In the Eagles’ loss to Sturt, Jared Petrenko had nine possessions and Brett Burton spent his second game at half forward and then on a wing and at full forward, collecting 13 possessions and kicking one goal.

Myke Cook (14 possessions) didn’t have a big impact for the Panthers, who were well beaten by Glenelg. And Ricky Henderson (seven possessions, one goal) started well for Central District but then dropped off after half-time.

In the SANFL reserves, Greg Gallman (North Adelaide) was solid in defence, collecting 18 possessions. Tom Lee (four possessions) started at full forward for Sturt and then had a run on the wing.
