The Adelaide Football Club today unveiled its striking new away guernsey - a predominantly white jumper with a fierce Crow across the front.

2009 Club Champion Bernie Vince, who modelled the new away strip before the team’s first run in their new Reebok training gear, said the players were thrilled with the new guernsey.

“We think it’s terrific,” Vince said. “The players were shown the design earlier this year and we reckon the fans will love it. It’s fresh and the new Crow really stands out.”

Crows captain Simon Goodwin and high flying forward Brett Burton also wore the club’s home guernsey and training gear, which has been made by the Club’s new apparel supplier Reebok.

The new away strip has removed the need for two away guernseys (away plus the clash strip).

The Crows will now wear the white guernsey for the majority of their away matches but against some teams (including Geelong and Sydney) the AFL has approved the team wearing the traditional home guernsey.

The AFL advised the Adelaide Football Club that a white base was its preferred option if a club consolidated its away and clash jumpers.

The two guernseys have allowed the Club to streamline the marketing of their apparel and modernise the away strip, featuring the new logo which was officially launched at the Club Champion dinner in early October.

During the 18-month process of designing the new Club logo and away guernsey, the Adelaide Football Club used two focus groups - a cross-section of members, supporters and coteries as well as apparel suppliers - and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive.

The younger age group, in particular, has given the new logo and the away jumper their resounding approval.
