ADELAIDE forward Jason Porplyzia will miss the club's NAB Cup opener against Port Adelaide on February 13 as he battles to overcome a pelvic injury.

Porplyzia was absent from Monday's training session and coach Neil Craig said the Crows' 2009 leading goalkicker would be on a modified program for the next two weeks.

"Jason's just got a problem with his pelvis, so we've had to back him off," Craig told Adelaide radio station FIVEaa.

"Up until then he ran a personal best in his 3km time trial, which is a big plus for him. We just have to be patient with him, but unless something goes wrong I'm really positive he'll be available for the second round of the NAB Cup."

Emerging midfielder Patrick Dangerfield, who strained a medial ligament at training last week, jogged laps during Monday's three-hour session and could join the main group as early as next week.

Ruckman Brad Moran (knee) and onballer Brad Symes (knee) will ramp up their workloads at the same time.

Centre half-back Nathan Bock had a lighter session, but continues to make good progress in his comeback from a fractured heel.

Nathan van Berlo, who hasn't completed a training session since experiencing back soreness in round 22 last season, was also restricted to light duties.

Craig said the onballer was on track to play the last two games of the club's pre-season campaign.
