What is the Adelaide Football Club Next Generation Academy (NGA)?

The Adelaide Football Club Next Generation Academy (NGA) is aimed at increasing opportunities for young talented footballers to learn and play the game of Australian Rules Football.  A key component of our Academy is focused on the attraction, retention and development of talented players, using our club’s powerful and recognisable brand to grow the game in the under-represented segments/regions of our community. Australian Rules Football has the capacity to bring people together and the Adelaide Football Club strongly believes the Next Generation Academy is an important vehicle in this process.

Next Generation Academy programs will assist to increase the talent pool of Indigenous and Multicultural players, as we know that these groups are significantly under-represented in the AFL comparative to the population. Currently only 25% of current AFL lists have players from diverse backgrounds (14% Multicultural and 11% Indigenous) which is only going to increase in line with Australian population trends.

Our Academy will also provide other talent based programs to players between the ages of 11 to 18, operating in collaboration with the following aligned SANFL NGA clubs and regions (as directed by the AFL) - Central District Football Club, Glenelg Football Club, North Adelaide Football Club, Sturt Football Club and the Eastern side of the APY Lands.
