It was a mixed bag for McKernan in 2013. The athletic forward/ruckman played his best game as a Crow against West Coast in Round 15, but was reported during the match and suspended for two games. He played a total of nine games for the season. In his sixth year at Adelaide, McKernan will be aiming to find consistency in his game and deliver on the potential he’s showed in glimpses throughout his career.

The young ruckman/forward put in some strong early-season performances, but was suspended for a week after striking Sydney defender Alex Johnson in Round Six and made to wait almost two months for a recall. Sustained a broken jaw in the win over Port Adelaide and Round 15 and played only one more game for the season – for a total of six. One of a number of Crows to display strong SANFL form throughout the 2012 season.

Season by Season

McKernan had a strong learning year in 2011, adding 16 games to his career tally. The 196cm utility impressed as both a key-position forward and back-up ruckman in the early part of the season and also showcased his versatility in the latter rounds, being moved to defence. McKernan hauled in a career-high eight marks against Hawthorn in round one.
