Completed his transition from cricket to football in 2017, making his AFL debut in a top-of-the-table clash with Geelong in Round 18. Keath played the next six games before being squeezed out of the team for finals. The athletic defender showed good closing speed and a cool head under pressure, and will be pushing for a regular spot after being promoted from the rookie list for Season 2018.

The Category B rookie was in a unique situation over the summer, juggling a professional cricket contract as well as an AFL pre-season. This meant Keath had a delayed start to his Crows career. After choosing to focus completely on football, the talented tall made his Club debut in the SANFL clash with Glenelg in his first game of football in over six years. Keath didn’t disappoint, seamlessly slotting into the defensive group and was named among the side’s best with 15 disposals and a game-high six rebound 50ms. A back injury stifled his progress later in the season, but the strongly-built Crow returned to kick two goals in a short stint up forward during Adelaide’s Semi-Final win over the Panthers. A project player who will continue to develop his craft in 2017.

Season by Season

A former AIS-AFL Academy graduate, Keath signed with the Crows as a Category B rookie for Season 2016. The talented sportsman is also playing grade cricket with Prospect and will honour that commitment over summer. A 196cm, key-position footballer at junior level with Murray Bushrangers and Melbourne Grammar, Keath was listed by the Gold Coast Suns as a 17-year-old priority pick in 2010 but opted to pursue a cricket career with Victoria. He has played seven first-class games for Victoria and also represented the Melbourne Stars in Twenty20 games.
