A career-best season saw Brodie Martin establish himself as a regular in Adelaide’s AFL team in 2014. Martin grew in confidence as the season went on, notching 17 senior appearances including a run of 15 games from Round Nine through to the end of the year. He averaged 16 possessions from the wing and half-forward, and booted an equal career-high three goals from 20 disposals against the Lions in Round 20. Will close in on his 50th AFL game next season if he remains fit.

Niggling injuries prevented the exciting Martin from playing more than two AFL games in 2013. The speedy wingman starred in the SANFL when fit and could add the outside run and skill the Crows are looking for if his body stays sound.

Season by Season

Martin was earmarked for a role in defence in 2012, but endured a frustrating run with hamstring injuries, limited to only seven games. Showed his capabilities, kicking 3.2 against Port Adelaide in Round 15 after starting the game as the substitute. Dominated when playing for SANFL club Sturt, which was reflected in his 12 Magarey Medal votes. Martin, who missed most of the 2010 season recovering from a knee reconstruction, has signed a new two-year deal and will be hoping for a change in fortunes on the injury front in 2013.

Season by Season

Martin struggled for consistency in his first season coming off a full-knee reconstruction, making only five appearances in 2011. The attacking 23-year-old’s best performance came against cross town rivals Port Adelaide in round four, where he picked up 23 disposals, five marks and three tackles. He regained form at Sturt late in the year and has the capacity to play either on a wing, or as a creative half-back flanker.
