Player Bio

At a Glance

Junior Clubs: Meningie/Sturt
Debut: v St Kilda, round 16, 2009
Recruited from: Sturt
Brownlow Votes: -

Martin was earmarked for a role in defence in 2012, but endured a frustrating run with hamstring injuries, limited to only seven games. Showed his capabilities, kicking 3.2 against Port Adelaide in Round 15 after starting the game as the substitute. Dominated when playing for SANFL club Sturt, which was reflected in his 12 Magarey Medal votes. Martin, who missed most of the 2010 season recovering from a knee reconstruction, has signed a new two-year deal and will be hoping for a change in fortunes on the injury front in 2013.

Season by Season

Season by Season

Martin struggled for consistency in his first season coming off a full-knee reconstruction, making only five appearances in 2011. The attacking 23-year-old’s best performance came against cross town rivals Port Adelaide in round four, where he picked up 23 disposals, five marks and three tackles. He regained form at Sturt late in the year and has the capacity to play either on a wing, or as a creative half-back flanker.
