Hampton made his Crows debut in Round One and played the first nine games of the season before seriously injuring his ankle and missing three months. The line-breaking utility returned in the SANFL late in the season, but was unable to force his way into Adelaide’s finals-bound AFL team. After spending his first season at the Club in defence, Hampton moved into the midfield in 2017 and added a different dimension with his size, speed and aggression. He collected 21 disposals, 10 tackles and two goals in his best performance of the season against Gold Coast in Round Five.

Season by Season

Had an injury-interrupted first year at West Lakes. A stress reaction in his foot kept Hampton sidelined for the first half of the season. Eventually made his Club debut in the SANFL in Round 15 against Sturt and showed class and composure from half-back. Played every game with the SANFL side for the rest of the year, averaging 17 disposals a match. Spent stints as an onballer during the State League side’s finals run and impressed with his run and carry through the middle. Training with the midfielders this pre-season and has his sights set on a return to AFL action in 2017.

Season by Season

Adelaide targeted the quick and skilful Hampton in the 2015 Trade Period. Originally recruited as a Northern Territory zone selection in 2010, Hampton played 51 games in four AFL seasons with Greater Western Sydney. At 187cm and 91kg, he has versatility to play at either end of the ground, as well as in midfield/wing positions. A former captain of the AIS-AFL Academy, Hampton spent time in Adelaide previously as a boarder at Immanuel College.

Season by Season

Named part of the Giants’ emerging leaders group, Hampton starred off half-back through the first seven rounds of the season before an ankle problem interrupted his progress. Returned in Round 10 and played another three games, however a serious shoulder injury saw the skilful backman sidelined for another seven weeks. Will be eager to put his injury troubles behind him in 2015.

Season by Season

Played a career-best 18 games averaging 15 disposals as one of Greater Western Sydney's most important rebounding defenders. Hampton, who played forward as a junior, gathered a career-high 31 possessions and nine rebound 50ms against Collingwood in Round 18, and was also influential in the Giants' win over Melbourne the following week with 24 touches and seven marks.

Season by Season

A highly athletic player from Alice Springs, Hampton made his AFL debut in Greater Western Sydney’s first-ever game against the Swans. The former AIS-AFL Academy graduate started the year in the forward line, but relished a switch into defence midway through the season where he was consistently able to read the play and contain his direct opponent. Played the final 10 games of the year in succession and 17 overall in an encouraging debut year.
