The classy forward overcame an early-season shoulder scare to play some vintage football throughout the season. Porplyzia, who missed all bar five minutes of the 2011 season through injury, proved his enormous worth to the team in 2012, kicking 30 goals and providing another marking option in attack. Starred in his 100th game against Richmond, and also stood up in cut throat finals against Fremantle and Hawthorn.

Season by Season

Porplyzia’s 2011 season lasted only five minutes after he dislocated his shoulder in the opening stages of the Crows’ round one clash with Hawthorn. The one-time leading goalkicker worked tirelessly in his recovery from surgery with the aim of returning late in the season, but plans for a comeback were shelved when Adelaide fell out of finals contention. A proven match winner, the classy 27-year-old was a standout over the pre-season and his importance to the young Crows team in 2012 cannot be underestimated.
