Junior Clubs: Walkerville/North Adelaide
Debut: v Port Adelaide, round 4, 2011
Recruited from: North Adelaide
Brownlow Votes: 3

Missed out on selection in round one, but by mid-season had cemented his spot in Adelaide’s best 22 and didn’t miss a game from there on. The workman-like midfielder/forward showed his versatility, playing run-with roles on some of the game’s best players while also winning plenty of the ball. He averaged 30 possessions, and amassed a career-high 37 touches and two goals against Fremantle in Round 20 – a performance that earned him two Brownlow Medal votes.

The former rookie was a real success story in 2011, playing 19 games and filling a need as a small crumbing forward. The unobtrusive 22-year-old is a natural footballer, possessing clean hands and great goal sense. Promoted to the senior list for season 2012, Wright has the capacity to join the midfield rotation.
