Wright played 20 of a possible 22 games in 2014, splitting his time between the midfield and half-forward. He kicked 14 goals and also finished third at Adelaide in goal assists (17). The skilful ball winner collected a season-high 31 disposals against Geelong in Round One. The 100-game milestone is within reach if Wright plays 22 matches in 2015.

Endured a frustrating year after a breakout 2012 season. Wright played 17 games, spending more time in the forward line. A good decision-maker and ball user, the former rookie showed glimpses of his best, overcoming a badly-corked leg to kick four important goals against Gold Coast and backing up with another bag of four, including the match-winner, against Geelong three weeks later.

Season by Season

Missed out on selection in round one, but by mid-season had cemented his spot in Adelaide’s best 22 and didn’t miss a game from there on. The workman-like midfielder/forward showed his versatility, playing run-with roles on some of the game’s best players while also winning plenty of the ball. He averaged 30 possessions, and amassed a career-high 37 touches and two goals against Fremantle in Round 20 – a performance that earned him two Brownlow Medal votes.

Season by Season

The former rookie was a real success story in 2011, playing 19 games and filling a need as a small crumbing forward. The unobtrusive 22-year-old is a natural footballer, possessing clean hands and great goal sense. Promoted to the senior list for season 2012, Wright has the capacity to join the midfield rotation.
