Dangerfield overcame close attention from opposition taggers as well as niggling injuries to emerge as Adelaide’s match winner on a number of occasions in 2014. The two-time All Australian ranked No.1 in the AFL for contested possessions (341), third for clearances (140) and hard-ball gets (146), and fourth for inside 50ms (104). He also led the Crows for total disposals. Dangerfield finished fifth in the Brownlow Medal and placed third in the Crows Club Champion award. He was selected to represent Australia for the second time in the International Rules series. Dangerfield shared the acting captaincy duties with Rory Sloane in 2014 and is part of the leadership group for 2015.

Backed up a superb 2012 with another outstanding season, earning All-Australian selection for a second straight year. Dangerfield split his time between the midfield and the injury-hit forward line, starring wherever he played. Despite missing three games through injury and copping a heavy tag most weeks, the damaging Crow ranked fourth in the AFL for centre clearances and hardball-gets, and seventh in contested possessions. He also slotted 31 goals to finish runner-up in Adelaide’s goalkicking. Dangerfield finished top-five in the Brownlow Medal and equal-third in the Crows Club Champion award.

Season by Season

Dangerfield established himself as an elite player of the competition in 2012, earning All-Australian selection and finishing seventh in the Brownlow Medal. The game-breaking onballer relished a full-time role in the Crows’ engine room, ranking 10th in the League in total disposals (600), second in contested possession (361), fourth in clearances (147) and first in hard-ball gets (184). The emerging leader signed a new contract in 2012 and will be a vital part of the team going forward.

Season by Season

Dangerfield pushed up the ground to play a more prominent midfield role in his fourth season at the Club. The line-breaking ball winner enjoyed the extra minutes in Adelaide’s engine room, averaging a career-best 17 disposals per game. The 21-year-old also had an impact on the scoreboard, kicking 23 goals to finish third in the Club’s goalkicking. The Crows contested-ball king picked up a season-high 31 possessions against Richmond in Round 23 and has been included in the senior leadership group for 2012.
