A pre-season ankle injury interrupted Knight’s start to the year. He missed all of the NAB Challenge but recovered in time to play Adelaide’s SANFL season-opener. Knight starred early at State League level, claiming 48 possessions and kicking five goals in the opening two rounds. Was rewarded as a late inclusion for Adelaide’s Round Three clash with Richmond but couldn’t retain his place in the senior side. A lingering nerve issue in his ankle then forced him onto the sidelines for a significant part of the season. Was finally cleared to return to SANFL action in Round 20 and immediately pressed for a senior recall, named as an emergency in Adelaide’s two AFL finals. Will be targeting an injury-free run in Season 2017.

A breakout year for the hard-running half-forward. Knight overcame a pre-season ankle injury and returned through the SANFL in Round Seven, where he amassed 26 possessions in his first game of the year. A string of strong performances saw Knight force his way into the senior team, where he kicked two goals on debut against West Coast in Round 15. His strong work ethic and neat skills saw him retain his spot for the remainder of the season. Not one to be overawed by the big stage, Knight played a key role in Adelaide's Elimination Final win at the MCG with two goals and 15 possessions.

Season by Season

Knight was one of the great success stories in Adelaide’s maiden year in the SANFL. He played every game in his first season of league football and built a reputation as one of best runners in the side. Knight was influential with 20 possessions and two goals in the Club’s first-ever SANFL victory in Round Three, and relished the wet conditions against West Adelaide with 24 possessions and a goal. The half-forward finished joint runner-up in Adelaide’s SANFL Best and Fairest Award.

Season by Season

The South Australian utility joined Adelaide with its second and final pick (No.46 overall) in the 2013 AFL National Draft. From Woodville-West Torrens and St Peter’s College, Knight has elite endurance, an excellent work-rate and is renowned for his professionalism. He played as a defensive half-forward in the victorious SA team at the Under-18 National Championships and racked up 37 possessions, eight marks, five clearances and nine inside 50ms for the Eagles Under-18s in Round Two. Originally from Clare in country SA.
