Tippett was a victim of Adelaide’s ineffective forward line entry to an extent last season, but still managed to kick 31 goals in 18 games and finish second in the Club’s goalkicking. The 202cm forward/ruckman provided a strong contest inside50m and showcased his game-breaking abilities, with bags of four against St Kilda and Gold Coast. A difficult match-up for opposition defenders, Tippett could be a big beneficiary of quicker ball movement under new coach Brenton Sanderson.

David Noble: “'Tippo' was up and down … but our ball movement inside 50m wasn't good at times and that certainly didn't help him. What you do know though, is that like Rory Sloane, Kurt will always compete. You just put the ball in his area and he'll compete for it. We need more marks and more goals from him and he's aware of that. Maybe, a slight tweak in game-plan from the new coach might assist that. I also think he can play a bit higher up the ground. I don't think we should keep him locked in deep forward. He's created a really good fitness base and that's allowed him to do a bit more forward and also change up in the ruck, which has been good for him.”
