After emerging as a surprise packet in attack in 2010, Henderson pushed up onto a wing last season. The shift gave the former basketballer greater freedom, allowing him to use his dangerous pace to exploit opposition teams. The 23-year-old, who battled a hip complaint in the latter stages of the season, kicked 12 goals in 18 matches and ranked No.1 at the Club for creating turnovers that led to Adelaide scores. His performance against the Western Bulldogs in round 13, where he gathered 28 disposals and took nine marks, was a highlight.

David Noble: “The most exciting thing for me with Rick was his move up the ground onto a wing. He's got an outstanding capacity to read the game. I still think he's got a little way to go in regards to believing he can have a massive impact at this level. Shifting him out of the forward line allowed him to use that massive running power and speed he's got. It was a tick for him and a really good indicator for us going forward.
