Adelaide midfielder Matt Crouch has undergone further groin surgery after consultation with a specialist.

The operation was to alleviate soreness and a timeline of Crouch’s return to running will become clearer with his rehabilitation in coming weeks, as well as further consultation with the surgeon.

Crouch, 26, had hip surgery last off-season before groin soreness prevented him from playing an AFL game in 2021.

He had surgery in May to stabilise a tendon in his groin and played one SANFL game in July, but reported further discomfort and was restricted to training for the rest of the season.

The former Club Champion and All Australian signed a two-year contract extension with the Crows in September and was making good progress in his rehabilitation and return to running.

But after seeking further medical advice the decision was made for the onballer to have more surgery interstate on Monday.
