Crows coach Don Pyke is not buying into talk of a “hoodoo” for Adelaide at Kardinia Park.
The Crows have not won in Geelong since 2003, but Pyke says every game should be treated as its own event.
“It’s interesting the concept of a hoodoo,” Pyke said.
“But I look at it as a new event, a new team.
“The ground is slightly different, but not majorly different to where we play.
“It’s now just about making sure our mentality (is that) we’re not worried about those things… we control what we control.”
INJURY UPDATE: Round 15
Geelong suffered its second loss of the season on Saturday night against Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval.
Pyke attended the match and praised the Cats as a “very good side”.
“I was probably watching Geelong more to see how they’re playing and their style,” he said.
“It was a fantastic win for Port, but it was one game and we tend not to read too much into one game.
“We can expect Friday night will be a contested game and that’s the space we like to play in.”
