Adelaide’s new SANFL side will play a night game on Anzac Day next season.

The clash under lights against Glenelg on April 25 is a highlight of the SANFL’s 2014 program, which features 10 teams and five-match rounds for the first time since the 1990 season.

As previously revealed on afc.com.au, Adelaide’s first SANFL game for premiership points will be against North Adelaide at Prospect Oval, on Sunday April 6.

This is the day after Adelaide’s AFL side plays its first home game at Adelaide Oval, against Sydney Swans.

It has also been confirmed that Adelaide will play the first SANFL Showdown against Port Adelaide at Clare on Sunday, May 4. This is Adelaide’s only home game of the SANFL season.

The Crows’ AFL and SANFL teams only play once on the same day – on June 14. The SANFL side will play against Central District in the afternoon and the AFL side takes on North Melbourne at Adelaide Oval under lights.

Other key points of the 2014 SANFL program include:

  •  There will be two SANFL games on Anzac Day. The 2013 grand finalists Norwood and North Adelaide will meet earlier in the day.
  •  Adelaide’s new SANFL side will not play any games at the same time as the AFL Crows next season.
  • The weekend of July 19 will be the only one during the season when Adelaide’s AFL and SANFL teams will not be playing.
  •  Both games against West Adelaide will be played at Richmond under lights.
  •  The SANFL finals will start on the weekend of August 30.
  •  The grand final will be played at Adelaide Oval on Sunday, September 21.

Adelaide has three trial games scheduled against SANFL teams. It will play Sturt on Max Basheer Reserve on March 8, the Eagles on March 22 and Norwood on the last weekend in March.
