Defenders Matt Jaensch and Ricky Henderson, and midfielder Sam Kerridge have been left out of Adelaide's final team to play Geelong at Simonds Stadium on Thursday night.

Henderson has been struck down by illness, while Jaensch will miss as part of his management for Round One. Kerridge has been omitted.

Young Crows Sam Siggins, Harrison Wigg and Keenan Ramsey are the other omissions from the team that beat North Melbourne in the opening round of the NAB Challenge. Mitch Grigg and Brodie Martin will start as substitutes.

Patrick Dangerfield, Richard Douglas, Sam Jacobs, David Mackay and Brodie Smith, who all sat out the Club’s pre-season win over North Melbourne, will play against the Cats. Trade period recruit Kyle Cheney will make his Crows debut.

Tom Lynch has recovered from a head knock sustained in the opening quarter against the Kangaroos in Port Lincoln and will take his place in the side.

Young ruckman Reilly O’Brien, who made an impressive debut against North Melbourne, will support Jacobs in the ruck.

Two-time Club Champion Scott Thompson was unavailable for selection after injuring his hamstring at training. Thompson is now in doubt for the Club’s season-opener on April 5.

Emerging midfielder Matt Crouch and ruckman Luke Lowden also weren’t considered for selection. Crouch’s workload is being managed following ankle surgery, while Lowden is also being closely monitored after being on a modified program pre-Christmas.

The game at Simonds Stadium starts at 7:10pm (local time) and will be broadcast on Fox Footy, who has the exclusive television rights to the NAB Challenge. As a result, the match will not appear on free-to-air TV.

Fans can also watch the clash between the Crows and the Cats online with a free trial of AFL Live Pass. The Club’s Twitter account @Adelaide_FC, and Facebook page will also provide updates.

Adelaide’s final NAB Challenge game is against Port Adelaide at AAMI Stadium on Saturday, March 21, at 3:40pm (local time). Eligible members of participating clubs receive free entry.
