Promising Crows trio Cam Ellis-Yolmen, Sam Shaw and Mitch Grigg have agreed to contract extensions.

Ellis-Yolmen, 22, has signed for a further two years after enjoying a breakout season and playing 11 AFL games in the midfield.

He was also among Adelaide’s best performers at State League level in the latter part of the year.

Ellis-Yolmen is looking forward to continuing his development at West Lakes.

“I’m rapt to sign on and want to be with the boys as we learn and strive to be better in coming years,” Ellis-Yolmen said.

“I got a taste of AFL this season and I’ve still got heaps of room for improvement, and believe this is the best environment for me.”

Crows Head of Football David Noble said Ellis-Yolmen, who was selected with pick No.64 in the 2011 National Draft, had made excellent progress in his fourth season at the Club.

“Credit to Cam, he worked extremely hard last summer and it was reflected in his footy,” he said.

“We think he gives us a different look in the midfield, as that bigger body, and we’re excited about seeing him develop further over the next two years.”

Shaw, 24, put an injury-interrupted few years behind him in 2015.

The athletic and versatile defender had a slow start because of corrective hamstring surgery, but finished the season strongly to be rewarded with a two-year extension.

Shaw played nine SANFL games and was recalled to the AFL side for the first time in nearly 12 months against Gold Coast in Round 17. He also played in the Round 19 win over Richmond.

“I gained a lot of confidence from what I was able to do in the second half of the season,” Shaw said.

“My body feels as good as I can remember and I’m really looking forward to attacking pre-season with the playing group.

“I’ve been here six years now. I love the place and the people, and I believe we’re on the right path to sustained success.”

Noble said Shaw’s best football was still to come.

“I think we’ve only seen a glimpse of what Sam can do,” Noble said.

“Sam had a wretched run with injuries prior to this season, but we’re confident that the surgery he had at the end of last season has fixed the underlying problem.

“He displayed strong form towards the end of the year and we think Sam will be like a new recruit for us in 2016 with a big pre-season under his belt.”

Grigg, who played six games this season bringing his career tally to 20, has signed a one-year extension.

“I just want to play my part and contribute as there are exciting times ahead,” he said.

“This is a really focussed group of guys and we are all determined to build on this year’s finals appearance and make sure we keep improving.”

Noble described Grigg, a 2011 draftee, as having plenty of upside.

“Mitch possesses an elite kick and we are looking for him to take his game to another level in 2016,” he said.

“Another solid pre-season, coupled with an injury-free run, and I am sure we will see the best of what he has to offer.”

The contract news follows the re-signing of Matt Crouch for three years on Tuesday.
