Rory Sloane played just 12 games in 2018 after missing a large chunk of the season with a foot injury.

The vice-captain provided a strong leadership presence in the games he played, averaging 21.9 disposals, 6.1 clearances and 6.3 tackles.

Despite his time on the sidelines, he collected the fifth most clearances at Adelaide with 72 and the fourth most tackles with 75.

The two-time Club Champion delighted the Crows faithful when he signed a five-year extension late in the season to become a Crow for life.

In his first game after inking his new deal, the 28-year-old led the way in Adelaide’s 15-point win over Geelong.

He had 27 disposals (17 of them contested), eight clearances, nine inside 50s, seven tackles and a goal that saw the crowd erupt.

Post-match, coach Don Pyke said Sloane’s re-signing had given his players a boost ahead of the game.

“It definitely had an impact, the boys love playing with Rory and finding out that he’s going to be here for a long period was fantastic news for the footy club,” he said.
