Captains have backed Adelaide to be big improvers this season, with 15 of the 17 other club captains predicting the Crows to return to the top eight after last year’s 12th-placed finish. 

The AFL polled the 18 club captains for their views on the upcoming season ahead of Friday’s 2019 Captain’s Day at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Collingwood, Melbourne, Richmond and West Coast were unanimously picked to make finals, with Adelaide next in the voting ahead of Greater Western Sydney, Geelong and Sydney.

One other club captain predicted Adelaide to reach the Grand Final.
