Cam Ellis-Yolmen played nine AFL games in 2019, proving his worth in Adelaide’s midfield before injury ruled him out of the final nine rounds.

After starting the year in the SANFL, he earned his senior recall in Round Four and held his spot until a shin injury he sustained before the bye put him on the sidelines.

Across the nine games, the midfielder averaged 23.5 disposals, 4.9 clearances per game and 5.6 score involvements.

Pressure was a strong point of Ellis-Yolmen’s season as he averaged 5.5 tackles, 23.5 pressure acts and a contested possession rate of 51.7 per cent - ranked elite by Champion Data.

He topped the Crows for ground ball gets per game with 9.8 and was second at the Club for average contested possessions with 12.3.

Ellis-Yolmen delivered his strongest performance of the season in Adelaide’s loss to West Coast in Sir Doug Nicholls Round.

The 26-year-old was everywhere, recording 30 disposals (17 of which were contested), eight clearances, 10 tackles, four rebound-50s and five marks.

He also put Adelaide on the board with a superb snap in the opening minutes.

Despite the final result, Ellis-Yolmen was recognised with a selection in the afl.com.au Team of the Week.

He was also named in the best for Adelaide, alongside Rory Sloane, Hugh Greenwood, Brad Crouch, Wayne Milera Junior and Reilly O'Brien.
