Adelaide defender Brodie Smith says he wants to stay at West Lakes, shutting down talk of a move to a rival club in the upcoming trade period.

Reports swirled last week that Brisbane were interested in luring Smith to Southeast Queensland.

But the 27-year-old was adamant he was staying in South Australia when asked about the rumours on SEN SA radio on Tuesday.

"No, I'm not (leaving Adelaide)," Smith said.

"I'm contracted for two years … I do (want to stay).

"That’s just Charlie (Cameron) being a bit sneaky over there I think."

Smith played all 22 games in 2019, averaging 22.9 disposals per game while leading the Club for total metres gained.
