Adelaide will start the 2020 Toyota AFL Premiership Season at home, hosting Sydney in a twilight fixture on Saturday, March 21.

The Round One clash at Adelaide Oval will get underway at 4.05pm ACDT, the third time the Crows and Swans have faced off in a season opener.

The previous two Round One encounters were both one-sided affairs, with Sydney winning by 52 points in 2001 and Adelaide running out 90-point victors in 1996.

New Adelaide senior coach Matthew Nicks was on the Sydney’s playing list on both occasions but did not play.

He opens his coaching career against the side he represented 175 times, with the Crows expected to field a new-look outfit after a busy Trade Period.

Captain Rory Sloane is set to play his 200th AFL game against the Swans.

The full 2020 Toyota AFL Premiership Season fixture is set to be released later this week.
