Adelaide list manager Justin Reid is adamant Tuesday’s pick swap with Greater Western Sydney won’t compromise the Club’s talent order at next week’s AFL Draft.

The Crows traded pick No.4 to the Giants for pick No.6 and a future first round selection, a move which fits firmly within the Club’s strategy of bolstering its playing list through the draft.

“We’ve put a lot of work into it, and we think it won’t compromise our talent order,” Reid told on Triple M Adelaide’s Jars & Louie on Tuesday afternoon.

“The ability to slide two picks and pick up a free round one draft pick in the future is part of what we’re trying to do to rejuvenate the list.

“To be going into the draft with a solid hand this year but also two round one draft picks next year and two round two picks, it really sets us up over multiple years.”

With Oakleigh Chargers teammates Matthew Rowell and Noah Anderson widely tipped to be drafted by Gold Coast with picks 1 and 2, Adelaide will be watching with interest as Melbourne (pick No.3), GWS (No.4) and Sydney (No.5) make their selections.

Reid is confident the Crows will 'bring some good, high character and exciting talent into the Club', with a handful of names in contention at pick No.6, including highly-rated South Australian midfielder Dylan Stephens.

“He (Stephens) is certainly in the mix, he’s high-end talent like a few other South Australians,” Reid said.

“At pick six we’re going to have three or four names that will be sitting there on the night.

“Depending on how the cards fall ahead of us, we’ll still be really happy with the name we call out on the night.”
