Young Crow Ned McHenry is eyeing a new skill set in 2020… but it’s got nothing to do with football.

Speaking to AFC Media, the 19-year-old revealed his New Year’s resolutions ahead of the next decade.

Top of the list: become a master barbecuer.

“I want to learn something cooking related,” McHenry said.

“I love barbecuing, I love meat… I want to master barbecuing.

“I’ve been cooking dinner once a week with the host family and I want to get good on the barbie for that.”

And help to learn may not be far away:

Beyond his cooking skills, the 19-year-old also wanted to land a particular big fish in his new boat.

“I’ve never caught a bluefin tuna in South Australia before,” McHenry said.

“Caught plenty back in Victoria… (now) I’ve got the new boat over here.

“Bluefin tuna, that’s the one I want to christen the boat with, that’s the one I want to catch.”

Professionally, McHenry said he hoped to stake a claim in the JLT series at the start of the season and to eventually make his AFL debut.

The midfielder played 10 SANFL games in his first year with the Club, booting five goals and averaging 18.1 disposals per game.
