Adelaide forward Taylor Walker has labelled Buddy Franklin one of his “top three favourites” following the Sydney star’s return on Saturday.

Franklin played his first game since 2019 in Round Two and booted three goals to help sink the Crows by 33 at the SCG.

Walker, who kicked six, chatted with Franklin after the game.

“We were just talking about kids, that’s where our lives are at,” Walker told Triple M’s Roo & Ditts.

“I love Buddy, he’s one of my favourites, in my top three favourites.

“I love watching him play, it’s good for footy that he’s back that’s for sure.”

Walker leads the Coleman Medal race after two rounds with 11 goals and has praised rule changes introduced by the AFL for the 2021 season.

“Standing the mark, I think it’s opening up a bit of space for the forwards,” Walker said.

“The game is getting higher scores and it’s certainly helping out the front of the field.”

Adelaide kicked 22 points in the Saturday defeat to the Swans, a focus point of Matthew Nicks’ Monday meeting.

“That’s certainly something that let us down, kicking 11.22 isn’t going to get it done,” Walker said.

“We’ll have to nail a few during the week (in training)... we’ve been doing that during the week anyway, but hopefully we can continue to do that and nail a few and put the pressure back on the opposition.”

Adelaide will face Gold Coast on Friday at Adelaide Oval.
