Experienced defender Luke Brown will miss this weekend’s Round 13 clash with St Kilda due to Achilles soreness.

Brown sat out Saturday’s loss to Collingwood due to the injury and will be given an extra week to recover so that he is better placed to play the remainder of the season after the Round 14 bye.

“The plan will be to manage Luke’s training loads this week and he won’t be available for selection against St Kilda,” Head of Football Adam Kelly said.

“He is an important player for us and a leader in defence and it’s hoped that after the bye he will be in a better position to resume playing.”

Key forward Taylor Walker will have scans on his right leg after landing awkwardly in a marking contest during the loss to Collingwood.

Walker has been cleared of significant structural damage to his knee but reported soreness during and post the game and will have scans to determine the most appropriate course of management.

Midfielder Sam Berry is recovering well from concussion which saw him subbed out of the Round 11 loss to Richmond.

Under AFL rules, Berry missed the game against Collingwood but has progressed through each stage of the concussion protocol to this point and is expected to be available for selection this weekend.

Forward Lachlan Gollant has made significant progress in his return from a finger injury and will be tested this week with a view to him being available to return against Sturt in the SANFL on Sunday.

Gollant ruptured a tendon in his finger in March which required surgery and he rejoined main training last week.
