Hugh Greenwood was born-and-raised in Hobart, Tasmania before a basketball scholarship to the AIS in Canberra saw him leave home at age 15. He had a successful US college career with the University of New Mexico before making the bold move to retire from basketball and sign as a Category B Rookie for the Crows in 2015. He made his SANFL debut with Adelaide in 2016 and his AFL debut one year later. He went on to play 15 games that season including the grand final. His good form saw him promoted to the senior list for 2018 and he featured in all 22 games as a crucial part of Adelaide’s midfield.
