Crows midfielder Rory Sloane will be assessed at training this week as he recovers from an eye injury he suffered in Saturday night’s loss to Sydney.

Sloane was subbed out of the game at half-time and saw an eye specialist in hospital where he was cleared of damage to his retina.

“Rory sustained an eye injury during the game and had to be substituted out at half-time, fortunately there was no retina damage at all, he’s still a bit sore and we’ll see how the week plays out and he will be an assess for this week,” High Performance Manager Darren Burgess said.

Shane McAdam will miss the rest of the season after fracturing his cheekbone in a contest against the Swans.

“Shane was in hospital last night having that (depressed cheekbone fracture) pushed out, and will be out for the weekend,” Burgess said.

Defender Andrew McPherson also suffered a setback in his return from a long-term quad injury in the SANFL on the weekend and will require a scan later this week.

“Shatteringly Andrew has reaggravated his quad injury,” Burgess said.

“He was involved in a tackling contest and we’re not too sure of the extent (of the injury) yet, we will have it scanned later in the week and see how we go from there, but it’s pretty shattering news for Andrew and the team.”
