Adelaide has made two changes ahead of its elimination final against St Kilda at Norwood Oval on Sunday afternoon.
Irish wing Niamh Kelly and All-Australian utility Chelsea Randall have both been named in the team, and return from concussion.
Kelly missed last weekend’s Round 12 win against Fremantle after she suffered a head clash early in the first quarter of the Showdown the week prior.
Randall comes back into the side after missing the past seven matches with concussion, following a head knock in the Crows’ Round Five win against Hawthorn.
Adelaide Head of Women’s Football Phil Harper said Kelly and Randall were welcomed additions to the side and would provide plenty of experience in a do-or-die clash.
“They are both All-Australian players, both of them got through training Thursday and they both feel terrific today,” Harper said.
“It will certainly boost everyone’s confidence, we know what sort of a player Chelsea is.
“Niamh had been in terrific form, she made the All-Australian squad for this year, so it’s a positive to bring someone like her back in.”
Veteran Stevie-Lee Thompson and defender Brooke Tonon have been omitted.
“Stevie-Lee didn’t do anything wrong last week, but in the end, if you’ve got two All-Australians coming back in, you need to find a way to get them in the side," Harper said.
“Brooke is very stiff to miss out, but it turns out someone had to give, and unfortunately on this occasion it was Brooke.
“But knowing her, she’ll fight on and get back in the side, and hopefully we live to see another day next week."
The pair move onto the emergency list alongside second-year tall Lily Tarlinton.
A victory against the Dockers last week, and other results going its way, meant that Adelaide finished the home and away season in sixth spot, and secured a home elimination final against the Saints.
“It’s terrific to be here now in the finals, playing in front of our home crowd at Norwood Oval,” Harper said.
“This team has been very resilient, it hasn’t been smooth sailing this year, however when they’ve had to pull it out and get it done they have, and ultimately that’s got us to the finals.
“Our fans have been terrific for us all year, and it will be good to play in front of them again this year and hopefully they can help us to a win against the Saints.”
Adelaide faces St Kilda in an Elimination Final this Sunday at Norwood Oval, with the first bounce at 2.35pm ACDT.
