Former Crows wind back the clock
Two members of Adelaide’s 100-game club have joined forces at a country footy team. Scott Welsh, who kicked 270 goals in 129 games for the Crows from 2000-07, has been kicking goals for Encounter Bay in the Great Southern League for the past two seasons. And this year he has been joined by Ian Perrie, who played 116 games for the Crows from 1998-2007. Welsh has booted 39 goals from seven games this season to lead the league’s goalkicking list, while Perrie has kicked eight goals for the unbeaten Eagles. The 34-year-olds are both wearing their old Crows numbers, 17 (Welsh) and 22 (Perrie). Adelaide’s all-time leading goalkicker, Tony Modra, also spent time kicking lots of goals with Encounter Bay a decade ago.

Puparazzi
Jared Petrenko tried his hand at photography during Adelaide’s training session at Westminster School on Tuesday. Sidelined with an AC joint sprain, Petrenko borrowed a camera from The Advertiser photographer Sarah Reed and took some snaps of his teammates. ‘Pup’ is now a published photographer after the newspaper ran a collection of his photos in Wednesday’s edition.

19th Man Arrives in Istanbul
While on long-service leave and after listening online to the FIVEaa call of the Crows game, Adelaide Facilities Manager Trevor Jaques was walking through the Arasta Bazaar next to the Blue Mosque in Istanbul. A storekeeper called him over to his carpet shop. Telling him that he wasn’t interested in bargaining for or buying a carpet Trevor went to walk away. The store keeper said ‘No. I just want your cap!’ Eventually Trevor’s 19th Man Crows cap was swapped for something non-descript and it now sits proudly front and centre of Mehmet’s collection of sporting caps from around the world in the window of his carpet shop. When next in Istanbul look for it!
