Paul Seedsman’s first game as a Crow will also mark his 50th AFL game.
Seedsman played 49 matches for Collingwood before joining Adelaide in last year’s Trade Period. Fellow recruit Troy Menzel, who played 40 AFL games for Carlton, could also notch a milestone in his debut season at Adelaide.
Daniel Talia and Brodie Smith are both closing in on 100 games.
Talia is two games-shy of a ton, while Smith needs to make three more AFL appearances to reach triple figures. The All Australian defenders debuted in 2011 and celebrated the 50-game milestone in the same game against Port Adelaide in Round 19, 2013. Fellow backmen, Ricky Henderson (81 games) and Andy Otten (79 games) are also nearing 100 games.
Two-time Crows Club Champion Scott Thompson could join elite company in 2016.
Thompson, 32, is 15 games-shy of reaching the prestigious 300-game milestone.
The prolific midfielder, who played 39 matches for Melbourne before returning to South Australia at the end of the 2004 season, needs to play four more games to reach 250 club games for Adelaide. Only seven Crows have reached the 250-game milestone: Andrew McLeod, Tyson Edwards, Mark Ricciuto, Ben Hart, Nigel Smart, Simon Goodwin and Mark Bickley. Of the illustrious group, only four (McLeod, Edwards, Ricciuto and Hart) went on to play 300 AFL/Club games.
Star forward Eddie Betts will be hoping to notch 250 AFL games, as well as his 50th club game for the Crows. Betts has played 45 games for Adelaide since departing Carlton, where he made 184 appearances.
Wingman David Mackay is sitting on 144 AFL games entering his 10th season at West Lakes.
Kyle Hartigan could clock up 50 if he plays every match of the home and away season, while Charlie Cameron needs another 21 games to reach the half-ton. Midfielder Jarryd Lyons is 15 matches away from the same milestone.
Twelve players are yet to make their AFL debut: Wayne Milera, Harrison Wigg, Dean Gore, Tom Doedee, Harry Dear and Mitch McGovern, as well as rookies Jono Beech, Hugh Greenwood, Paul Hunter, Reilly O’Brien, Keenan Ramsey and Alex Keath. Seedsman, Menzel, former Giant Curtly Hampton and ruckman/forward Luke Lowden could all make their Crows debut.
