Five Crows will feature in the inaugural AFL Women’s State of Origin match to be held during the AFL’s ‘Celebration of Football’ week.

All five of Adelaide’s All Australians have been named to play in the landmark clash between Victoria and the Allies on Saturday, September 2 at Etihad Stadium.

Inaugural AFLW Best and Fairest Erin Phillips, fellow Crows co-captain Chelsea Randall, Rising Star winner Ebony Marinoff and courageous defender Courtney Cramey have been named for the Allies while gun goalkicker Sarah Perkins will line up for Victoria.

Newly re-signed Crows premiership coach Bec Goddard will lead the Allies side opposed to Victorian coach Debbie Lee from Melbourne.

The match will be broadcast live nationally on the Seven Network and Fox Footy with public entry free of charge.

Additional players may be added to the squads at a later date.

Allies coach Bec Goddard said she looking forward to taking on the ‘Big V’.

“Coaching in South Australia, I understand how passionate South Australians are about their footy and nothing burns deeper than a fierce contest against Victoria,” Goddard said.

“The match will be a great spectacle, it’s a great way to kick off September and showcase women’s football.”

An Under-18 State of Origin match will be played as a curtain-raiser featuring players in the All Australian squad.
