The Crows will use two ‘live’ picks in next month’s AFL National Draft, says General Manager of List Development and Strategy David Noble.

Adelaide holds pick Nos.23 and 46 after a good Free Agency/Trade period. The Club was able to break back into the second round of the draft (No.23) after midfielder Bernie Vince accepted an offer to join Melbourne on a long-term deal.

The talent in this year’s draft pool is considered very even, and Noble said he was confident the Club could secure two quality players in the second and third rounds.

“We’ll go in with the two draft picks (No.23 and No.46). I think it’s an opportunist’s draft, personally, because of the way clubs might specifically target specific areas of need. It might allow other talented players to fall through,” Noble told afc.com.au.

“A number of clubs might only have two or three picks early on and then get out, so there might be a bit of talent left there later too.”

Adelaide could also use a late draft pick(s) to confirm the promotion of a rookie(s) to the senior list. Noble said the Club would finalise its delistings and any rookie elevations within a week.
