Ian Perrie's nine-year climb towards the 100-game milestone could be stalled by up to three months by a knee injury.

Perrie spent Saturday night in hospital in Perth after damaging the posterior cruciate in his left knee in a marking contest during the clash with Fremantle.

The full extent of the injury will not be known until the key forward has scans on Monday but early reports suggest he will miss anything from two weeks to three months.

Perrie, drafted from WA, was playing his 98th AFL game.

Midfielder Tyson Edwards, who pulled out of Saturday night's game after struggling to beat a calf injury, is rated a 50/50 chance to face the Western Bulldogs on Saturday at AAMI Stadium.
