Will Young continues to develop in the SANFL with another strong performance for Norwood.

The 2008 draftee, who turned 19 on Monday, had 15 kicks and five handballs as a defender and played with good aggression in a losing team. Taylor Walker kicked 4.1 (a goal in each quarter) from limited opportunities. He took two strong contested marks and two on the lead, and also was involved in a couple of assists.

Richard Douglas returned to Glenelg for the first time this season. Playing mainly as a small forward with short stints in the midfield, he had 13 possessions but kicked three goals.

Rory Sloane was the pick of the North Adelaide Crows. He had 14 possessions and spent most of the day against Magarey Medallist Jade Sheedy. Phil Davis (14 possessions) had a tough day in defence and Tony Armstrong (19 possessions) was not as damaging as he has been in recent weeks.

Myke Cook (14 kicks, seven handballs, one goal) played a solid game for the Panthers, who were thrashed by West Adelaide. He spent time on the ball, deep forward and at half-back, where he picked up nine touches in the last term.

Jonathon Griffin (nine possessions, 15 hit outs) was okay for Central District in its win over Port Adelaide.

Reserves

Aaron Kite (10 kicks, five handballs) continued to press for a recall to the Norwood league side. Playing as a forward all day, he kicked 2.2 (including a great goal on the run from the boundary line) and took a couple of contested marks.

Glenelg’s Brian Donnelly (eight kicks, six handballs) pushed up the ground for some more possessions this week and took seven marks. He also kicked 1.2.

Greg Gallman (North) has 12 possessions and won his defensive position; Tom Lee (Sturt) booted two goals from six possessions and Ricky Henderson (Central) kicked 3.3 from 13 possessions as a key forward.
