Matthew Jaensch was named best on ground in Sturt’s important win over Norwood on Sunday.

Jaensch had 28 disposals and kicked two telling goals in two minutes in the third quarter, including a lone effort down the wing, kicking the goal from 60m.

Jack Gunston performed well for Central District on Saturday. In the Bulldogs win over West Adelaide, Gunston collected 15 kicks, eight handballs and 11 marks. Chris Schmidt was named in the Bloods’ best with 25 possessions and six marks.

In South Adelaide’s loss to Port Magpies on Sunday, Myke Cooke had 10 possessions and two marks while Shaun McKernan had nine disposals and nine hitouts.

In the Queen’s Birthday game on Monday, Sam Shaw made his SANFL league debut for Glenelg and showed some encouraging signs in the Tigers win over North Adelaide. He had 10 possessions and four marks while James Sellar kicked two goals from seven possessions and had nine hitouts and four marks.

Rookie Matthew Wright was one of North Adelaide's best with 20 possessions, four marks and a goal.

Bernie Vince returned to football for South Adelaide reserves after recovering from his ankle injury. He played out the entire game and collected 31 possessions through the midfield and was named in the Panthers best.

Aidan Riley was named in the best for Sturt’s reserves on Sunday. He had a big impact in the second half and collected 13 disposals. Brian Donnelly played in defence for Central District’s reserves and had a quiet game.
