James Sellar kicked the winning goal for Glenelg on Sunday as the Tigers defeated Sturt by six points.

Sellar converted a set shot from 35m to put Glenelg in front late in the last quarter and finished the game with 11 possessions and 17 hitouts. Sam Shaw played in various roles off the bench for Glenelg and had nine disposals and two marks.

For Sturt, Aidan Riley returned to the seniors and had seven kicks and 10 handballs at half back and in the midfield and was influential in the last quarter. Matthew Jaensch played a tagging role for the Double Blues and had 17 possessions and seven marks in a solid game.

Chris Schmidt had a run with role against Bernie Vince on Saturday in West Adelaide’s win over the Eagles. Schmidt had 15 possessions and five marks and limited Vince’s influence on the game. After hurting his ankle in the third quarter, Vince came back on for the Eagles and finished with 17 possessions and worked hard all day.

Jarrhan Jacky had 11 possessions, three marks and kicked a goal for the Eagles while rookie Luke Thompson had a solid first half and provided a good forward option, and he finished with 10 possessions, five marks and a goal.

Jack Gunston played as a tall forward and on the wing for the Bulldogs in their comfortable win over North Adelaide. He had eight kicks, eight handballs and five marks and had an influence in the second and third quarters.

Rookie Matthew Wright was best for the Roosters playing at half forward and in the midfield. His work around the stoppages was good and he finished with 26 possessions and five marks.

In the SANFL reserves, Brian Donnelly had a consistent game for the Bulldogs in defence. He had 13 possessions and four marks and controlled his opponents well all day.
