Heart in mouth
Strength and conditioning coach Nick Poulos was forced to make a pit stop on his way to Adelaide Airport on Sunday morning after receiving word from Melbourne, where the team had landed the day prior, that Matt Jaensch had forgotten his mouthguard. It was the second time in three interstate games this season the obliging Poulos had made the mercy dash to West Lakes on the day of the game to retrieve a player's mouthguard from his locker.

Call me, Bickley
As a player, dual-premiership captain Mark Bickley was as tough as they come, but the now senior assistant coach showed his softer side on the mini-bus to Etihad Stadium on Sunday morning. ‘Bicks’ was caught singing along to pop song ‘Call Me, Maybe’ playing on a radio station pre-tuned into the rental van. When asked how he knew the words to the song most popular with teenage girls, Bicks blamed being surrounded by a family full of women, adding that even his two-year-old son, who can also recite the lyrics, had too been corrupted.

Still top Dog
A popular member of the Crows team, Ian Callinan is no stranger to the adoration of members supporters, but the reception he received at the Club’s post-match function at Etihad Stadium on Sunday night was completely unexpected. The first two players presented to the spirited crowd - Kurt Tippett and Josh Jenkins - received rapturous applause, but when Callinan walked up to the microphone the room broke out into the infamous and haunting Central District chant, ‘You Dogs!’ The mature-age rookie had to wait for the noise to subside before he could address the group.

Up with the trends
The Crows and, more specifically, coach Brenton Sanderson were hot topics of conversation according to Social Media outlet Twitter after the game on Sunday. As the Club’s travelling party prepared for take-off on the flight home to Adelaide, Sanderson received notification he was ‘trending’ nationwide. Don’t forget to follow Sando - @SandoAFC - and the Club’s official account @Adelaide_FC.

The wheels on the bus go …
The weary travelling party considered itself lucky to make it onto the flight on Sunday night after a surviving a bus scare on the freeway to Melbourne Airport. The driver was forced to slam on the brakes suddenly, stopping with such haste the bus stalled. Fortunately, the traffic on the busy arterial was minimal and the driver was able to start the engine and get the group to the intended destination without further incident.
