More than a dozen Crows have been given permission to play in SANFL trials this weekend.

Sam Shaw made his return from a knee injury against Carlton, and will be hoping another hit-out with Glenelg will be enough to convince the Adelaide match committee he’s ready for Round One. Brodie Martin, who played less than a half against the Blues, will also pull on the boots.

Richard Tambling will line-up for Sturt after a few weeks on the sidelines with a back complaint.

Tom Lynch, Shaun McKernan, Jarryd Lyons, Luke Thompson, Cam Ellis-Yolmen, Mitch Grigg and Lewis Johnston all featured at different stages in the NAB Cup, and will be out to put their names back in front of the selectors. Draftees Rory Atkins (Sturt) and Sam Siggins (North Adelaide) will also feature for their respective clubs.

Because this weekend is considered a ‘bye’ weekend under the AFL’s Collective Bargaining Agreement, Clubs must seek permission for players to represent their SANFL clubs. The rest of the Adelaide playing squad will have the weekend off.
