A 3D virtual online Adelaide Oval was launched on Monday, showcasing a 360 degree view from every section of the venue.

The redeveloped Adelaide Oval will not be finished until March next year but the Virtual Venue technology – used for the first time in Australia – will allow current and prospective Crows members to move around the stadium and buy memberships.

Thousands of Adelaide members have been assigned seats at Adelaide Oval and will from tomorrow receive information about how to anchor their seats for 2014. They will also have the chance to change seats if not satisfied or if interested in upgrading.

The Virtual Venue will also be used to offer new memberships later this year to prospective members who have registered for the Club’s 2014 pre-sale.

The joint venture with AFL, Port Adelaide and Ticketmaster is fully integrated with the Club’s memberships systems.

Crows CEO Steven Trigg said the Virtual Venue was an exciting addition to the membership sales process.

“It’s not easy moving 25,000 season ticketholders into a new stadium, and trying to sell new memberships for a stadium that’s still being built,” Trigg said.

“But this 3D visualisation not only looks fantastic, it enables seat relocation to be completed electronically rather than manually.

“With a click or two of a mouse button, you will be able to move round the 2014 version of Adelaide Oval and check the views, look at pricing, see what’s available and secure seats.”

Adelaide’s 2014 membership packages were also released today. You can view the options at http://19thman.com.au/memberships.

Existing membership categories have been maintained but there have been two additions – Legend’s Membership  (eastern stand, mid-tier) and General Admission.

Trigg said the relocation of members had been a difficult task for Supporter Services.

“It’s a completely different stadium set-up, with changed seating configurations and positioning,” he said.

“However, our team has put an incredible amount of time into the seat assignment and will continue to work with current and future members.

“The key positives for our membership is that 40% more of our ticketholders will be under cover, there are 25% more seats in the popular wing bays and 80% of members at Adelaide Oval will be our direct customers.”
