Goalkicking duo Jason Porplyzia and Lewis Johnston have inked new deals with the Crows.

Porplyzia, 28, resisted the lure of Free Agency to remain at West Lakes, signing a one-year contract.

Adelaide’s leading goalkicker and an All-Australian nominee in 2009, the classy forward has kicked 180 goals in 126 games – ranked ninth all-time at the Club. The former rookie had a frustrating season in 2013, limited to 16 games but reminded everyone of his ability mid-season, kicking multiple goals in three straight games between rounds 14-16.

After an injury-interrupted start to the season, Johnston burst onto the AFL scene in Round 19.

The long-kicking 22-year-old, who missed two months with a fractured leg, kicked 11 goals in the last five games. He slotted a career-best six goals, including the final-ever goal by a Crow at AAMI Stadium, against Melbourne in Round 22.

Originally recruited by Sydney with pick No.12 in the 2008 AFL National Draft, the Port Pirie product was traded to Adelaide at the end of 2011. Regarded as one of the best kicks for goal at West Lakes, Johnston has played a total of eight AFL games. He's also signed a one-year deal.

General Manager of List Development and Strategy David Noble said the Club was pleased to secure the damaging pair.

“Jason would be the first to admit he was below his best this season, but we believe he’s an important player, who provides great versatility and also leadership to our list,” Noble said.

“Lewis showed some very promising signs when he got his opportunity late in the season. He’s a dangerous forward, who capitalises in front of goal, and we think has the potential to become a key component of our developing forward line.”

Johnston is currently playing with North Adelaide in the SANFL finals series. The proven goalkicker sat out the Roosters’ semi-final win last weekend because of an ankle injury, but is expected to line-up against West Adelaide in the preliminary final on Sunday.

Johnston follows young teammates Brad Crouch, Sam Kerridge, Daniel Talia, Rory Laird, Luke Brown, Cam Ellis-Yolmen and Mitch Grigg in committing to the Club this year. Captain Nathan van Berlo, defenders Andy Otten, Ben Rutten and Brent Reilly, forward Tom Lynch and onballer Matthew Wright have also re-signed.
