Promoted rookie Charlie Cameron will make his AFL debut against Collingwood on Thursday night.

Cameron, 19, was elevated to the senior Crows squad on Tuesday in place of captain Nathan van Berlo, who is on the long-term injury list.

Cameron will become the 199^th player to represent the Adelaide Football Club. Recruited from WAFL club Swan Districts with Adelaide’s first pick (No.7) in last year’s AFL Rookie Draft, the speedy forward got a taste of AFL in Adelaide’s opening NAB Challenge match. He’s kicked nine goals in five SANFL games, including a bag of four against Glenelg, to be the Club’s leading SANFL goalkicker this season. Cameron, who hails from a rugby background, is also a fierce tackler and competitor.

Sanderson also revealed veteran Brent Reilly had been left out of the team ahead of what would’ve been his 200^th AFL game. Sanderson described it as “the toughest decision” he’s made as a senior coach.
