Two-time Club Champion Scott Thompson is expected to be fit for Adelaide’s crunch game against North Melbourne in Hobart on Saturday.

Thompson has missed the past two games because of a back-related hamstring complaint. The All-Australian midfielder has completed a solid block of training and is confident of a recall for the trip to Tasmania.

Wingman David Mackay will be assessed during the week after being concussed in Adelaide’s loss to Richmond on Saturday night.

Forward Tom Lynch, who has been diagnosed with a small neck fracture, will see a specialist this week to help determine the length of his stay on the sidelines. Young midfielder Riley Knight will face a fitness test after sustaining a nasty knock to his leg in Adelaide’s SANFL clash with Sturt on Saturday. Tall Shaun McKernan, who strained his hamstring in the first quarter at Unley Oval, will miss 2-4 weeks.

Captain Nathan van Berlo is training at 80 per cent intensity as he ramps up his recovery from a ruptured Achilles. Defenders Andy Otten (knee) and Kyle Hartigan (spleen) will be sidelined for the remainder of the season with their respective injuries.

The Crows will hold an open training session at Blundstone Arena in Hobart on Friday, August 22, from 1pm. The session will run approximately 45 minutes.

Adelaide will take on North Melbourne at 1:45pm (Tasmanian time) on Saturday.
