Adelaide’s seven new draftees have hit the training track together for the first time.

Rookie ruckman Reilly O’Brien, who arrived in Adelaide late last week, joined Jake Lever, Harrison Wigg, Mitch McGovern, Harry Dear, Keenan Ramsey and Anthony Wilson for this morning’s football session at AAMI Stadium.

O’Brien, a 201cm ruckman/defender, was Adelaide’s first selection at last Wednesday’s AFL rookie draft.

Targeted by the Crows recruiting team to add depth to its collection of talls, 19-year-old O’Brien joins Sam Jacobs, Josh Jenkins, Hawthorn recruit Luke Lowden and third-year rookie Jack Osborn on Adelaide’s ruck roster. Dear, drafted as a developing key forward, can also spend time in the ruck.

O’Brien played at Victorian TAC Cup side Calder Cannons with Lever, Adelaide’s top pick at the national draft on November 27.

The Crows will hold an open training session on Wednesday, from about 9am on Max Basheer Reserve.
