Crows midfielder Rory Sloane has been voted into No.24 on the AFL Players’ Top 50 countdown.

The AFL surveyed every player in the competition to determine who they ranked as the game’s most elite.

In its second season, all 18 clubs participated in the survey with 105 players receiving at least one vote. Fourteen of the top 20 players on the list have retained their standing somewhere inside the top 50.

Sloane vaulted 12 spots up the hierarchy after another sublime season.

The 2013 Crows Club Champion did not miss a game last year and confirmed his status as one of the toughest midfielders in the competition.

The heartbeat of Adelaide’s on-ball brigade, Sloane ranked second at the Club for disposals, contested possessions and hard-ball gets, and was third for clearances. He was also fourth in the competition for tackles and score assists, and rated seventh in the League for inside 50ms.

Sloane relishes the physical contest and often shows little regard for his own safety in the heat of battle.

Now a 100-game player at the Crows, Sloane won his second consecutive 19th Man Award last season as the members’ most valuable player. He also finished a close runner-up to Daniel Talia in the Club Champion voting – his third top-three finish in as many years.

Sloane is also ranked No.7 in the AFL’s Player Ratings hierarchy, which measures the statistical impact of every player in the competition.

He is the only Crow revealed so far in the AFL Players’ Top 50 countdown.
